Charter

The Mission 6 Registry established the Carbon Foundation as an action arm. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) entity within the SDG Impact Fund SDG Impact Fund.

The Carbon Foundation’s charter is to implement Mission 6 ESG goals by:

  • launching decarbonization projects in underserved communities that are selected based on impact, scalability, and funding multiplier effect.

  • incubating decarbonization technologies through last mile requirements, e.g.,

- confirmation testing, financing, pilots, and the recruitment of foundation and enterprise partners to facilitate initial deployment in underserved communities.

  • promoting education and outreach of Mission 6 ESG goals, i.e.,

- raise awareness of climate change impact on the underserved and of the market-driven solutions that can ameliorate that impact,
- recruit Donor Advised Funds, foundations, and strategic enterprise partners to collaborate with the Carbon Foundation.

Interrelationship with Mission 6 Registry

The Mission 6 Registry is a magnet for emerging decarbonization technologies that offer high-impact, market-driven solutions for underserved communities. Examples include a nanotechnology that permanently cuts HVAC energy usage by >20% producing a 10X payback in in reduced utility costs for public schools in disadvantaged areas; an advanced incineration technology that runs on unseparated waste gas to generate 100% clean, low-cost electricity at marginal conventional oil wells located in underserved communities; and a domestically produced chemical coating that generates 3X the solar energy without panels or rare earth minerals. The pipeline of promising technology solutions will only grow as the registration of enterprise decarbonization ramps-up in 2023.

Strategic partners

The Carbon Foundation recruits strategic foundation and enterprise partners to facilitate deployment of promising technologies in underserved communities. The technologies selection is based on propensity to become self-sustaining and driven to full scale by the market.

Along with the tax benefit of a charitable deduction, a strategic partner can secure deployment preferences, ownership, and other rights from the technology provider. The technology provider receives financial support with limited or no dilution and a ready customer. The Carbon Foundation advances Mission 6 goals and any revenue received enhances its capacity to finance other projects. Mission 6 certifies, registers, securitizes, and publishes decarbonization results on a global public ledger.
